We Partied Anyway!

UPDATE -- Below I misspelled (or squished together) the wonderful bakery/restaurant. It's Euro Pane (thank you, Cafe Pasadena). The mystery woman standing next to Jervey Tervalon is Georgia Jeffries (thank you, Larry Wilson).

LitFest Pasadena was rained out on Friday, but the planned after-party for organizers went on anyway at Europane on Colorado between Euclid and Garfield after it was closed for the night (thank you, Sumi!).

Mayor Bill Bogaard and Light Bringer Project President Tom Coston:

I don't know the name of the woman on the left below (chime in if you do). Left to right next to her are local author Jervey Tervalon, Pasadena Star-News Public Editor Larry Wilson and Libros Schmibros founder David Kipen.

Sandra Tsing Loh addressing the group:
New date for LitFest Pasadena: Saturday, May 12.

Good to see Sandra Sing Loh with a hands together leading a prayer before the meal. ;)

Euro Pane continues to support the local artistic/literary community. However, I'm actually glad the 1st annual LitFest was rained out Sat cuz I was outta town most of the weekend. So now I have a 2nd chance. Thank you Mother Nature!

Btw, it's common to misspell Euro Pane as one word (Europane). But it's actually 2 words: Euro Pane. Pane is a separate Italian word for bread. I reminded Sumi the owner of EP of this when they put up the sign at the new Euro Pane. She knew this of course & agreed, but it was too late. At the original EP the sign is correctly 2 words.

A bit of recent Pasadena history.

Sandra Tsing Loh is a favorite of mine. She's one of the few liberals who went against script, and put her child into public schools....and she writes about it with great humor (and often favorably towards the schools).
